ESPN Game Day back to Eugene this Saturday!

The Eugene Register Guard Duck Blog has just confirmed that both TV and Radio ESPN Game Day will be in Eugene, Oregon, a SECOND time, this season for the Oregon Ducks vs Arizona State University football game. This is the SECOND time in two weeks that two top ten teams have played at Autzen Stadium. Go Ducks

The radio version, that is. That much has been confirmed. Still awaiting word on the TV crew, but I like Oregon’s chances. LSU-Alabama is the other great option.

UPDATE (12:51 p.m.): TV will be here too, Oregon has just been told.

UPDATE from the University of Oregon Atletic Department:

Lee, Kirk and Co. Return for an Encore

EUGENE, Ore. – ESPN College GameDay has confirmed it will produce its weekly college football preview show from the University of Oregon for the second time this season prior to the Ducks’ home game vs. Arizona State.

Kickoff for the football game, which is currently slated to be televised locally on the Oregon Sports Network, will be 3:45 p.m. (PDT).

The premier college football pre-game show, which has aired weekly on ESPN since its inception in 1989, also originated from outside of Autzen Stadium on Sept. 29, when Oregon, ranked 11th at the time, hosted then No. 6 California. Saturday will mark the first time College GameDay as made two trips to the same Pac-10 school in one season.

The program features hosts Chris Fowler, Lee Corso and Kirk Herbstreit, and will air live from 7 a.m.-9 a.m. (PDT). The show began producing the telecast from college campuses around the country in 1993.

Details surrounding the exact site of the production will be released early this week, with the general public encouraged to be part of the production free of charge.

This will be the third Eugene appearance for the show, which includes features, predictions and highlights of some of this week’s top games from around the country, and the fourth time the Ducks have played a role in the network’s award-winning college football preview show. The production’s first Oregon appearance occurred in 2000 when it made its first-ever appearance in the Pacific Northwest on Sept. 23 prior to the Oregon-UCLA game.

Oregon and UCLA also were featured in 1998 when the show originated from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena.
