The Chicago Sun-Times, the flagship newspaper of Bob Novak's Column, is reporting today:
Robert Novak has announced his immediate retirement following the diagnosis of a brain tumor, a prognosis the Sun-Times' political columnist describes as "dire."
"The details are being worked out with the doctors this week, but the tentative plan is for radiation and chemotherapy," Novak said.
My thoughts are with Bob and his family. I will very much miss his column and Bob as a talking head on Cable TV News shows.
This year I will be cheering for Bob Novak's favorite college football team "The Fighting Illini."
