Thanksgiving Weekend

This year we tried something different for Thanksgiving weekend. Oh, we had the traditional dinner at our house. OUR son came home from college on Monday after some of his classes were canceled. We had my mother-in-law and brother in law over for Thanksgiving dinner. What was different what we did on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. We usually take one day to put up a lot of light outside and another day to put up or Christmas Tree etc. This year because of our Christmas plans we decided not to put up light outside and to put up or tree another weekend. We didn't do any Christmas shopping either. My wife has a bad cold so we spent the weekend at home watching college football, and watching DVD movies. My son and I did go over to Ashland Friday night to watch Willamette University play OIT at a small college basketball tournament and had a late dinner at Sharie's. I did an afternoon wedding on Saturday but that was it. Our son left for school early Sunday afternoon. He was only home for less than a week but the place is sure quiet at home since he left. He sure loves history. We spend the weekend talking about history, he is a history major, and watching every football game that had any baring on the Oregon Ducks BCS hopes. Last night after the Notre Dame/Stanford game we watched To Kill a Mocking Bird and Finding Neverland. He had never seen To Kill a Mocking Bird. To day I watched the DVD of Ben-Hur with the commentary on. Next week I have a ton of leaves to rake. Tomorrow is another working day as Paul Simon would say but I got lots of rest this weekend.
