For the last three years I have been complaining that Comcast Sports has been playing "hard ball" with Oregon cable companies and as a result many communities in Oregon, including Southern Oregon are not getting University of Oregon Sports programing including games, replays of games and coaches shows.
At the same time Comcast is attempting to take over NBC and as a result the Federal Communications Commission is asking Comcast some interesting questions according to the Wall Street Journal blog. The FCC wants:
copies of deals with other cable or satellite companies to distribute Comcast-owned sports .......... programming — to the oddly specific — details of Comcast’s expansion in Eugene and Portland, Ore. over a six-month period in 2009.
Both the FCC and the Department of Justice are reviewing Comcast’s offer to buy a controlling stake in NBC Universal....
