The top advisors who have left or are leaving is as follows:
White House Budget Director: Peter Orszag
Chair of the Council of Economic Advisers: Christina Romer
Director of the White House National Economic Council: Larry Summers
White House Chief of Staff: Rahm Emanuel
National Security Advisor: Marine General James Jones.
Secretary of Defense: Robert Gates is leaving next year. He will be sorely missed.
In the last few months, before the midterm elections, there has been a mass exodus from the Obama Administration of many of his top advisers. Now, it could be argued this is the result of the poor performance by this administration in both the economy and in foreign policy; but, the replacements are from the Presidents political cronies and not from any attempt to bring in new people with real world experience and new ideas. The circle around President Obama is tightening in a time he should be expanding it. A Washington insider yesterday told me the reason the adults were leaving is Obama doesn't listen to them and is keeping his "yes" people around him. Now, I disagreed with the people in his administration but it bothers me for the sake of my country that the President will no longer be getting a wide range of advise and options. It appears the the President and his administration are getting into a bunker mentality.
What will happen when we have our next crisis ?
