My wife and I just got back to Medford, after a two week trip to Washington D.C., New York City and Lexington Kentucky. We went on the trip to see out two adult children and had a wonderful time.We saw both of their residences for the first time. We were given a tour of the U.S. Capitol by out daughter, got to go on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives, went to a Capitol Hill Reception in a room full of famous politicians from both parties, saw two New York Broadway plays (Mama Mia & South Pacific) and went on a tour of a bourbon distillery and horse racing track in Kentucky. We spent the 4th of July in Washington DC and saw the fireworks and the parade. I checked in on the Lincoln Memorial and on July 4th spent some time with Thomas Jefferson at the Jefferson Memorial. More details will be posted here in the days to come. While we were gone Michale Jackson and Farrah Fawcet died and Sarah Palin announced she would resign as Governor of Alaska. Enough material for this blog for an entire month. Good to be home but I already miss our kids.
