Washington Week Part III

Got this email from a friend:

Sixteen years after “The Pick,” both the man who threw it and the man who intercepted it will be at Autzen Stadium on Saturday. (See post below Washington Week Part II)

Former UO cornerback Kenny Wheaton, whose interception return against UW in 1994 remains the most significant play in school history, will participate in a pregame festival in PK Park that also features appearances by Joey Harrington and the Heisman Trophy. And the man who threw the pass Wheaton intercepted, former UW quarterback Damon Huard, is a member of the Huskies’ radio play-by-play crew.

Huard’s brother Brock, another ex-UW quarterback, will serve as a co-analyst for ABC’s telecast of the game alongside ex-UO coach Mike Bellotti.

Wheaton will appear in PK Park from 10:30 a.m. to noon, participating in a “chalk talk” session and signing autographs. Harrington will do the same from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

On Friday, Wheaton will autograph T-shirts commemorating “The Pick” at the campus Duck Store from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., and at Fred Meyer on West 11th from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
