Fathers and Sons who were awarded the Medel of Honor




Arthur MacArthur (Civil War) and Douglas MacArthur (World War II) were the only father and son in history to each receive a Medal of Honor until January 2000 when the award was presented posthumously to President Theodore Roosevelt for his service in the Spanish-American War. His son, Theodore Roosevelt, Jr. earned the Medal of Honor during World War II. (see there story below)
