A friend offered me a free ticket to the Oregon game in
Eugene last Saturday night so I took the charter buss sponsored by the Oregon
Club of Southern Oregon and saw a spectacular performance by redshirt freshman
QB Marcus Mariota. He can run and he is an accurate passer. He has a lot of
poise and I can't remember when I felt so comfortable watching a new QB for my
Ducks! He may be the best QB in long long time. Only the level of the
competition, Arkansas State, keeps my enthusiasm in check. However, Arkansas State
is not a bad team. This could be the beginning of something great and special!
It was a perfect night in Eugene. It was shirtsleeve weather
in the first half and only a light jacket in the second half. A wonderful
sunset and a full moon at the end of summer. Oregon Duck fans are a zany non conforming bunch and it's always fun to be at a gathering of the flock. Trips to Eugene and
Autzen Stadium always bring back a flood of memories. It was a feeling of contentment
and nostalgia all at the same time. All was well with the world for a few hours
and you can't ask for more than that.
Let's Go DUCKS!!!!!
PS Love the new uniforms and that's not always true for me.... I'm kind of a traditionalist.
