Sequester in perspective

Lawrence Kudlow of CNBC:

The Obama administration is whipping up hysteria over the sequester budget cuts and their impact on the economy, the military, first providers, and so forth and so on. Armageddon. But if you climb into the Congressional Budget Office numbers for 2013, you see a much lighter and easier picture than all the worst-case scenarios being conjured up by the administration......

In other words, lower spending and limited government are the exact right medicine for free-market prosperity. The sequester cuts are pro-growth. Finish the job, please.

al-Queda Terrorist attack or Real Bad Movie Review

On the anniversary of September 11 al-Queda terrorist attacked a United States Consulate in Benghazi Libya and murdered the United States Ambassador to Libya and killed three other Americans in a brutal killings that is shown below.

For days since the killings the Obama Administration has told the American people the reason for the killing was a video movie that made fun of the Prophet Mohamed

For example United States Ambassador to the United Nations, Susan Rice was  all over the Sunday talk shows saying:

“Our current best assessment, based on the information that we have at present, is that, in fact, what this began as, it was a spontaneous – not a premeditated – response to what had transpired in Cairo,”

"In Cairo, as you know, a few hours earlier, there was a violent protest that was undertaken in reaction to this very offensive video that was disseminated,”

As Victor Davis Hanson, a historian at the Hoover Institution writes:

Embarrassed White House press secretary Jay Carney and U.S. ambassador to the United Nations Susan Rice insisted that these assaults were just reactions to an insensitive video that disparaged Islam and was circulating on the Internet. As embassies burned, we were assured that there was no animosity directed at America in general, or at this administration and its foreign policy in particular.



That is hogwash. The weeks-old video was a mere pretext, in the manner of the Danish cartoons that Islamists used to stir up mobs in their war against the West. The street rioting was long ago synchronized across the Middle East to celebrate the eleventh anniversary of the 9/11 attacks.



Apparently, the administration was left stunned and without a clue about the latest Middle East madness.

As a candidate and as president, Obama assumed that his own multicultural politics, his familiarity with Islam, his novel transracial personal story, and his repudiation of George W. Bush would all combine to win over the Middle East. Supposedly, Middle Eastern dislike of America had little to do with longstanding existential differences that did not start with Bush and won’t end with Obama.



Obama’s al Arabiya interview, Cairo speech, and loud reset diplomacy sent mixed messages. He gave the impression that Middle East anger was largely either America’s fault or due to misunderstandings that the sensitive Obama alone could mitigate — as he distanced himself from the supposed pathologies of prior American policy in the region.



That myth-making is now discredited. But it still makes it hard for the administration to admit that hatred in Egypt is deep-seated and irrational — and has very little to do with a silly video. Those in the Arab street hate the West and America because they are told daily that our supposed godlessness and decadence should not make us so rich and powerful — especially when such pious believers as themselves are so poor and impotent.But rather than addressing the real causes of their present misery — tribalism, misogyny, statism, corruption, authoritarianism, fundamentalism, and religious intolerance — amid rich natural resources, Islamists scapegoat. Sometimes they fume at American support for Israel, at other times at an obscure video, cartoon, or rumor of a torched Koran.



We only feed these adolescent tantrums when America wrongly apologizes for the occasional insensitivity of a few of our citizens, who enjoy free speech under the U.S. Constitution.

What particularly outrages me is the fact the Obama Administration has been misleading the American people and covers for their incompetence by shifting the blame to an American citizen who made an insensitive video

Now CNN is reporting:

Sources tracking militant Islamist groups in the region said that a pro-al Qaeda group was the chief suspect and that the attack appeared to have been planned. The attackers used the protest as a diversion, the sources said.

If the Obama Administration would mislead us on this what else are they misleading us on. I am mad, very mad, at their incompetence  and dishonesty. Four good Americans died and more will die before this is all over. President Obama has time for David Letterman but not time for his daily intelligence briefings and to meet with our one strong ally in the Middle East, the leader of Israel, Prime Minister Netanyaho! While we spend our time  "fiddling" on a supposed gaffs by Mitt Romney and Obama immerses himself in our pop culture , the Middle East burns, and Iran is building "The Bomb!"

Now we know what it was like to be in the  Rome Empire during the fall part of the Rise and Fall!

Paul Ryan as Mitt Romney's VP choice may not be the best  "political" choice but he is the best choice for America in it's time of need. We are in big debt and economic  trouble and it's time to make bold choices that gives us the best chance to get out of the hole we have dug ourselves into.

Condi Rice: Time to "Storm Washington D.C."

Time for Conservatives to Rally to Mitt Romney

The Leaders of the Conservative cause are starting to rally to Mitt Romney. Last week it was South Carolina  Senator Jim DeMint and Jeb Bush.This week it is Florida senator Marco Rubio and now congressmen Paul Ryan.  It's time for all Conservatives to join them to start the campaign against President  Barack Obama. The "hot mic" incident, where it was revealed that  Obama will, if reelected,  go even farther to the Left in appeasing  the despots of this dangerous world , should send a chill down the spine of every Conservative.   That combined with the huge debt that is swallowing us should sober us all up and demonstrate that  our differences are minor in comparison to the danger that hovers over the United States.

Preventing the reelection of President Obama will not be easy.  For all his weakness abroad he is a skilled  Chicago street fighter in domestic politics and will continue his class warfare in an attempt to stay in office.His allies in the public employee unions will spend  millions to keep their patron saint in the White House.

It's been said before, but this is the most important election in a long long time.  If  Obama is reelected there will be no going back. We will withdraw from leadership in a dangerous world and economically  there will be no return from the road to serfdom. We will enter a world were freedom will be gone and we will wish every day we could replay the election of 2012.

Mitt is not perfect and some of us have longed for others with better Conservative credentials.. They, for various reasons, have  elected to stand on the sidelines. Mitt Romney HAS been willing to lead and we should rally to him in this time of testing.

 Cross the line and stand with Mitt Romney!

How Stands The Union ?

I wish I could say in this summer of our discontent:

"The Union stands as she stood, rock-bottomed and copper-sheathed, one and indivisible."

Abraham Lincoln said:

"A house divided against itself cannot stand."
I believe this government cannot endure, permanently half slave and half free.

Today America is also a house divided against itself. This time it's between those who pay taxes and those who take tax money paid by other. One group does not want any tax increases and the other is dependant on government. As a result our elected leaders have taken the path of least resistance and have incurred horrendous debt which we have borrowed from the Chinese and others.

As usual Victor Davis Hanson says it best when he writes:

About 50 percent of taxpayers don’t pay federal income taxes. Almost half of American adults receive either the majority of or all of their income in some form from government. They are naturally desirous of even more entitlements, in the sense that even higher taxes on the top 5 percent might ensure at least some of the needed revenue to pay for them. And if that echelon must pay 70 percent or 80 percent rather than the present 60 percent of all collected income taxes, it would still not be such a bad thing, inasmuch as the circumstances surrounding their earned income must be somewhat suspicious. In the words of the president, the so-called affluent surely at some point must realize that they have made enough money and have hundreds of thousands in unneeded income that could easily be assessed with higher taxes

The agenda of the poorer and lower-middle classes is championed mostly by an affluent elite located on the two coasts, who find power and influence in representing “the people,” and are themselves either affluent enough, or enjoy enough top government salaries and subsidies, to be largely exempt from any hardship that would result from their own advocacy of much higher taxes and larger government expenditures.....

Behind the current mess and shrill rhetoric in D.C. are these two larger competing visions—the belief that the Obama agenda is the road to serfdom for everyone, and the belief that it will result in a long-overdue equality of result.

I believe it's the road to serfdom and destruction of the Union.

Line in the Sand

There is a time for compromise and there is a time to stand your ground. Figuratively the Republicans in the U.S. House have drawn a line in the sand and who will cross that line and stand with them in refusing to incur more and more debt?

When I was a young man LBJ started the "Great Society" and the "War on Poverty" and we have been on a spending binge ever since..... Democrats and Republicans.... No MORE !

To those who recommend caution and compromise I say, if not now, when? The press will always be against us. We may not have this chance again. America may not have this chance again. Give the President and the Senate an out and if they won't take it they will be responsible for any shutdown in the government.Even at this late date neither the Senate or President Obama have offered any concrete solution. You can't negotiate with the wind.

Media meltdown over GOP tax pledge

The mainstream media is undergoing a "meltdown" over the GOP pledge to not increase taxes and demanding real budget cuts as a condition of raising the debt limit. All you need to do is to read your local newspaper or watch ABC,CBS,NBC, MSNBC or CNN to see how it's the Republicans fault we have not worked out a budget deal.

For 50 years, the federal government has grown at a sickening rate. Whether Republicans or Democrats run the White House, Washington’s establishment always gets its way — bigger budgets, bigger deficits and higher taxes.......


As media types blast away at their barbaric Republican opponents, it is worth noting that just last year the GOP won the largest nationwide landslide victory in modern history based in large part on its pledge to oppose tax increases. Over 230 members of the House signed the no-tax pledge while 40-plus Senate members also signed to oppose tax increases.


It is interesting to see politicians savaged by the mainstream media as hostage-takers, members of Hezbollah and deranged cult leaders for doing no more than following through on a signed campaign pledge. Wasn’t keeping one’s word to voters once seen as a positive political characteristic instead of a personal moral deficiency?

PS have you also noticed how the media has been downplaying the unemployment issue. They have a big investment in Obama and they want to protect their investment!
