Good Day to be a Duck!

Saturday night the Oregon Ducks beat the Washington Huskies on a beautiful night at Autzen Stadium in Eugene, Oregon. The Oregon Ducks 44, Washington Huskies 10. It's always a good day when the Ducks beat the Huskies. By the way, this establishes a record of 5 consecutive wins over the Huskies. Neither team since they started playing each other has won 5 straight over the other. Let's Go Ducks!

We left Medford early Saturday morning for the game. We packed a lunch and stopped at Hayward Field in Eugene and went in and sat on an elevated grass area near the main gate and had our lunch.

We then went to the Duck store on campus before we drove back to Cottage Grove and checked into the Village Green Motel . We got a terrible room stuck in the 1970's. They are slowly remodeling the rooms but we got an old one. We stayed there three years ago and also got an old room but at least that room was clean. This time carpets were very stained and the wall paper was pealing. The drapes were wrinkled and were falling off the drapery rods. The TV was something out of the Partridge Family. They do have nice garden grounds and a nice breakfast buffet . I have never paid more for less in all my days of staying at motels. I will never stay there again until I am guaranteed one of the refurbished rooms.

On they way home I talked to a gas station attendant in Tri City who told me how much he enjoyed the game on TV and gave may a good analysis of the ebb and flow of the game. He told me he had never been to a game at Autzen but he was an obvious fan. There are a lot of fans like that in Southern Oregon!
